Making Of |
The sky is scattering media. There are only tow lightsources, the sun and a fill light. Because this image contains thousands of objects advanced features such as radiosity or focal blur where too slow on my PC (3.6 GHz P4 with 1 GB RIM).
Main topic of the image are the vegetations. Most of them are blobs. I wrote little macro to grow them and distribute them on a hight field.
The close up towers are iso csg of sor's do give the mesh some real thikness. The resulting isosurface has a very high max_gradient. I didn't use this value because it's too slow, therefore there are minor imperfections in the mesh. The distant towers are textured sor's.

Judges Comments |
Cool image, and a good example of a picture meeting its own ambitions. Composition and colouring are extremely pleasant. More work could have been done to the towers, and for an "after the storm" image it's not very wet.
