This image is based on a word game that works both in French (La Cithé) and in English (The Citea), nothing too fun, it is just an excuse for an image. The text reads "Will be out for a few days, I've been at the Citea to bring you the moon back". |

Making Of |
This image was done with (hoping I'm not forgetting anyone):
Jaime Vives Piqueres's Syslight
Skylight by Philippe Debar
Depth of field macro from Francois Dispot
IsoWood by Chris Hormann
Cardamine flower model from Gilles Tran
Teacups modified from example povray files by Fabien Mosen
Buildings from Gilles Tran's sci-fi scene
The eraser is made with Wings3D and the paper around it is CSG, textured with hand made Gimp images.
The pencil is CSG, with a height field for the carved writing.
The screws are made with CSG, it took me some time to do the sphere cap with rounded border.
The scale is made of CSG textured with standard wood with normal.
The whole thing is rendered with quite good radiosity settings to allow smooth lighting, especially in the cup.

Judges Comments |
Interesting concept, but lighting and texturing much too flat.
