1st off 1gig of memory isn't enough with the amount of objects in this world. I wish for 2 or 4gigs. I wish for more time. There is a lot more to explore within the City of Bountiful.
The idea for the city of Bountiful began many years ago. Then, it had a moat, the wall with sticks, a few roads, and a stepped Temple. Pov-ray does a funy things when you run out of swap memory, you loose objects, or they behave weird, So I had to give up on it.
Later around the entry time for 2004, I decided to have another go with it, when I got a better computer. Talking with some experts, it turns out all the ground with in the walls would of been paved, and Temples in that part of the world at that time wouldn't of been stepped. So the Temple got rebuilt, and the entire ground got paved. That started the 1st of my memory problems with 1gig of memory. So I had to go back and optimize so only things in front of the cameria were built. The moat was dropped, it wasn't seen either.
The inspriation came from The Singles Ward movie song Popcorn Poping to add in trees. I didn't start with Sonya Roberts's tree file, but ended up with it for fruit. The problem with trees is you start adding lots of objects quickly, and I wanted lots of trees. I used Vaxis rotate 1 to 360 to add my trees, in a few rings. More memory problems. I eventually figured out how to add them in front of the cameria.
I took a picture of a plate full of popcorn to wrap around the spheres.
