Your move in the universe. The rules are never/always changing. |

Long Description |
'Your Move' is a good example of what POV can do.
I like contrast in my pictures. In this scene there are two main
subjects the Universe and a Chess game. The Universe has it own laws and
rules that nature has set. The Chess game has it's man made rules.
Where these two conflic the Universe always win. That is why the Chess
board is infinite.
Where there is contrast there is also agreement. The physics that
governs the universe also governs the material that the Chess pieces
are made from. This is why the Chess pieces have crackes.
Are there any more contrasts and agreements between the Universe
and a Chess game? I'm sure you can think of much more. The question
is like the Universe in that it's open ended, but bound.
We are all like the Chess Set, we're man made.

Making Of |
Into:
This project was my second choice to entry. I run out of time to
enter my first project. THEN the DEADLINE was MOVED. So now maybe I
can get my first choice done.
Universe:
This uses mesh2 with a texture list.
This part really started this project. I had rewrote my tree maker
file to output mesh2 trees and leafs. While working on adding more
leaf types, I decided to go back to basics and see just what mesh2
could do. I copied an example from POV' help file and started playing.
On one of my test runs this popped out and I knew I had to use it.
Stars:
The stars are based on the "star1" option from
LENS EFFECTS INCLUDE FILE Created by Chris Colefax.
When setting up the scene I first use the stars options in LENS EFFECTS.
But the always on top option didn't produce the right effect. So I
wrote my own routine to make the stars. To place the Stars I took
an old Galaxy file I wrote and modified it.
Most of the pieces I made long ago. I redid the Knights and upgraded
the textures for this project. I used layered textures.
The pieces use a combination of lathes, prizms, spheres, boxes and
even sphere_sweep thrown in for good measure.
There is a readme.txt file in the zip file.
